Silent Ride

On my everyday jeepney ride on going home, it was always a silent ride. My co-passengers had been employees like me and some are students who had been exhausted for the whole day that passed by. Common scenario with this ride is the mellow radio music inside the jeepney while most of the passengers are past asleep. Seeing these things make me remember my essay writing when I was in college. I don't know why I chosen jeepney ride as the topic in my essay instead of other interesting topics to write about. My teacher wrote some comments in my write-up and one of the things she mentioned is that how could I relate to some passengers when in the first place there had been no exchange of words or interaction inside the jeepney. According to my teacher most co-passengers are just passers-by in one's life of a jeepney passenger that it would not be possible to learn something in a jeepney ride. I was not been able to have a good mark in that essay. If only I was able to discover www.911essay.com that could surely help me in my essay problems. To prove my teacher wrong I was able to have this blog but in every silent ride I have, it made me thinks twice that maybe my teacher had been right.

Foreign Coins

I was looking for coins in my wallet as my payment for the fare of my jeepney ride this morning. I almost paid a wrong coin. It was a foreign currency coin. It is an Australian coin given to me by my classmate in MBA. She had been in Australia because here sister had been staying there and she just came home from a long vacation there. My other classmates had been asking her if she had some spare Australian coins and she had given it to them as well as to me. It is now part of my collection.
When my brother started to travel across countries as part of his job being a seaman, I always ask him for spare coins that are still with him when he comes back. I already have coins coming from the countries of Singapore, UK, Australia, Japan, USA and etc. Recently, I came to know about gold bullion coin of USA. It is sold per ounce of the coin and per ounce of the coin is worth almost two thousand dollars. Hope in a lifetime I could be able to buy American gold eagle coin. I would consider it as a treasure that I would really keep and pass it on to my children and grandchildren.

Violation

On my way home, there had been a lot of law enforcers at the street. They came from LTO (Land Transportation Office) who were strict in implementing the laws and regulations among private and public vehicles. The jeepney, were I rode on my way home, did not escape from them. They stopped the jeepney and declared some violations. It delayed our trip for a while. I overheard that the violation incurred was overloading because the "konduktor" was already sitting on the middle of the jeepney and not on the passengers' seat. The violation would entail some fees and fines as well. I think the law enforcer was right in imposing the violation. They were only concern on the safety of the passengers. The safety of the passengers should always be the first priority of jeepney drivers.

Bible Reading and Jeepney Ride

Thanks to my Ipod, I could be able to read my bible even if I was on my way to work or in going home while having my jeepney ride. When I was converted to a Christian, I promised to myself I would finish reading the bible before reading any novel or books. I was inspired to continue this because on one of my jeepney rides, my co-passenger brought with her a hard bound bible and kept on reading while inside the jeepney. Fortunate enough for me I have a soft copy of a bible in my ipod that anywhere may I go I would still be able to have my bible reading. I am still on the book of Samuel and there are still a lot of chapters and pages left. Hopefully I could finish this.

Friendly Chat

It was a coincidence. I was able to have as a co passenger my schoolmate before who was also staying in the same village where I lived. When we are still students  we always ride on the same jeepney that even if we are not classmates we got to know each other. While on our way, I was able to have a friendly chat with her. We have talked about being newly married, the experience, struggles and adjustments encountered  I was happy to see her. It was only lately that I was able to knew that she already moved together with her husband to their new house in the nearby subdivision. We are so engrossed on talking that I barely noticed that I already arrived on my destination. Hope in my next jeepney ride, she could still be my co passenger so that I will barely notice the time of travel. Till my next jeepney ride guys!.

Sweaty Ride

The weather was so hot and the traffic is so heavy. Today's jeepney ride had been a very sweaty ride. I already see sweats dripping from the  elbows, face, neck and other visible parts of the body of my co-passengers. Added up by the heavy traffic, the jeepney is already not moving and I cannot feel the wind anymore or anything that would extinguish the warm air. I could really feel that my face is perspiring as well as any parts of my body. It was so hot and there is this sticky feeling that would want you to soak yourself on cold water. Thankfully the traffic last only for a couple of minutes and the jeepney ride went on.

Precious Shoes

One floody jeepney ride, one passenger caught my attention. He was a student and was barefooted. He was holding his shoes in his hands amid the cold weather, the flood and the jam packed passengers inside the jeepney. How precious those shoes must have been for him to prefer to be barefooted than to soak those shoes on the flood? The shoes that must protect his feet had not serve its purpose but its the other way around. It might be his only shoes that it must not get wet in order for him to be able to use it on the following day. It is a common scenario in an impoverished nation. Some students experience this and endure this just to finish their studies. Luckily, when I was a student there was no flood in my province or in  the place where I stay here in the city. I was not able to experience this one but I take good care of my shoes because my mother could not readily provide me new shoes in case it would be ruined. The prices of shoes is too expensive for us. The student who was holding his shoes reminds me of my years as a student. It has been a jeepney ride in the memory lane. Till the next ride guys. Bye for now.

Chasing Time

Now that I am staying away from my workplace, I am always chasing time not to be late from work. In going to work my transportation entails two motorcycle rides and two jeepney rides. If I would not be late, I could let go of one motorcycle ride and just walk that short distance from the jeepney stopover towards our office. Luckily, I was not late since the time I transferred to my mother's house. Well, thanks to my husband who always drives for me in going to the office whenever he is in the city. When he is not around, I must wake up early in order not to be stranded in the traffic or wait for a couple of minutes for a jeepney ride. I must not be late or else there would be a deduction in my payroll. I hope my everyday jeepney ride would go smoothly away from traffic and most importantly away from accidents.  I promised my husband not to complain about it because what I am experiencing is a small sacrifice compared to others. Goodluck to my everyday jeepney ride and hope chasing time would be minimized.

Flooding Streets

My forty five-minute jeepney ride became two hours when the streets were flooded by the heavy rain last night. The flood is already so heavy that all can be seen at the streets is water. There had been a heavy traffic and many vehicles stopped moving. This is totally a different scenario from other countries and cities. My friend who is in Europe is experiencing summer right now and even had a photo wearing castleberg outdoors attire. The sun is brightly shining in their place. Unlike here in our place that is always gloomy and rain is pouring at the afternoon. According to the weather forecast, there is a storm at our place and it may last for days. Lucky for me last night, I was able to ride a jeepney that was in a good condition or else I would have to walk in that flooding street. On our way, a lot of people were at the street waiting for passenger vehicles to passby wherein most of it were stranded at the traffic or on the flooding street. Before I was able to ride a passenger vehicle, I really try hard to be able to have a seat at the jeepney because there are also a lot of passengers like me who were waiting for their ride. I am really grateful that despite the flooding streets I was able to arrive safely at our house. Thank you Lord for the safe travel and for your protection.

Four Blind Men

Another weird jeepney ride it has been. Weird for the first time ever, I was able to have co-passengers who were blind. Not only one but four of them. At first I didn't knew that they were blind. They caught my attention when they kept on laughing and joking. It was only then that I focused my eyes on their face and on their eyes. There eyes were not fully opened and the eyeballs that could be seen were all white. They were accompanied by another slightly blind  man. When they already reach their location, they hold hands and slowly moved down out of the jeepney. It was inspiring to see them laugh and joked around despite of their incapacity. They made me to appreciate what I have now  and to refrain myself from complaining. It is a reminder that whatever I maybe experiencing right now, I am still fortunate compared to others.

Cheaper Fuel

Fuel prices had been decreasing lately. From P55 up per liter now it is below P55 with P49/ltr as the lowest price I've ever seen. This is good news especially to commuters like me because if this will continue, jeepney fare might decrease as well. A lot of jeepney drivers would be happy with this fuel price rollback. Cheaper fuel would mean bigger income to jeepney drivers. Hope this will continue. :)

Baseball Game

In my jeepneyride going to down town, I always pass by in these big open field. It would always catch my attention because several people gathered here to watch different games. It may be soccer, Frisbee or baseball games. Of these games, baseball is the game where I could more relate to. I was able to join a baseball game during my high school days for extracurricular activities. Somehow I was able to experience the hardship and joy of reaching the homebase. I think it would be more fun if I was part of the live audience instead of being a player. It has been my dream to watch a live professional baseball league game. I would really jump for joy if I would have miami marlins tickets, kansas city royals tickets and los_angeles angels of anaheim tickets. It would really be a nice experience and a baseball game worth remembering.

Only Passenger

In so many jeepney rides I had, it was my first time to be able to experience being alone in a jeepney from where I came from towards my destination. Usually if you are the only passenger, jeepney drivers would request you to transfer to another jeepney so that they could return back to their route and stay for a while in places where they could pick up more passengers. During my ride, I was already expecting that the driver would tell me to transfer to another jeepeney but he did not do so. I would really understand if he will request me to transfer because fuel now is so expensive that the driver's collected passengers fares must surpass his fuel expenses. It is only practical that in every route he does, the jeepney must be full of passengers. The experience of being a sole passenger is memorable since it doesn't happen in every ride but it is somewhat with guilt because I know that driver is not earning in that situation.

Jeepney Driver in Dilemma

It was an unfortunate accident and if only time could be turn back, maybe this jeepney driver would do the safest action he must do to avoid the accident. It was late in the evening and we are still in Camp Mariano where the 3rd LA Regional Conference had just finish when a loud noise woke us up. I was woken up not by the noise but by the grumbling of people outside our tent. An unfortunate accident happened. Luckily no one was injured but some parts of vehicles had been damaged. It was a sloped area and the jeepney descended when the engine was still off. The driver could not control it anymore that it bump to a van and a toyota hilux. The jeepney was rented as well as the van. The toyota hilux was a company car and it was not a company business transaction that the driver was in great dilemma as well. They are hesitant to report it because the driver of the toyota hilux might loss his job if they do so. If they will not report the accident the insurance company will not shoulder the expenses. Aside from the toyota hilux, the van also need major repairs because the sliding door could not be opened anymore. I pity the jeepney driver for being in this situation. He was already teary-eyed when he was telling the whole story. I don't know how they will resolved this.

Tracker

Good thing that in every jeepney ride there is a driver and a route to follow where in you would only say "para" or "lugar" when you already reached your destination. Unlike traveling to a place where you never had been is a bit difficult. You would never know what road to take and what are the landmarks, to be able to know that you are in the right track. Before maps is widely used because it is very reliable in locating roads and highways to be able to arrive in your destination. Now there are already cellphone applications of maps where you just have to type your starting point and end point and it would automatically compute the distance, duration of travel and suggested path to take. Good thing also with the advancement of technology is that there is now a gps tracker. With a gps tracker you could be secured that you are on the right track. It would give you your exact location anywhere you would be. You would just set where your destination is and it would guide you on what road and places to pass towards your destination. Latest models of cars now had already a gps tracker being installed. It is very helpful especially in traveling to new places.  Companies also installed it on their company cars to be able to know the location of their employees. This is the good thing that technology brought us.

Dream Ride

Jeepney ride is fun and very accessible but there are some rides that are very seldom to ride on to and more often it is not available. Limousine is one of the vehicles that could be rarely seen and only few people could afford to have it or rent it. Being in a limousine would be a dream ride for me. Though I already saw a vehicle like this in one of the exhibits here in Davao, I don't think I could ever ride in a Limousine during my lifetime. I would already be very fortunate enough if I could be able to do so. Here in the Davao City, I think there were already Limousines for rent but they were very hard to find. Limo Hire Liverpool is only one of the many companies around the world that focuses on limo for hire. Limousine is already very common on other countries and there are a lot of companies that offer these kind of services. If here in the city where I live wherein Limousine is very rare to be seen, in other progressive countries like New York, it is an ordinary vehicle roaming around the city. Though limousine ride is only a dream ride for me, still, it would be great if these dream ride would come true.

Drivers are Sweet Lovers?

There is a saying that "Drivers are sweet lovers" and I don't know if it is true or not. Though for several years already of being a passenger in a public vehicle like jeepney, I had been able to meet drivers who had always been asking personal questions. I hate it but I don't want to be mean to them. They would ask your name, your occupation, where do you live and sometimes even your cellphone number. It is annoying that sometimes I gave a different name or different number. It is like as if they are looking for a lover. I might be wrong and maybe they are just bored and would like to have someone to talk to while driving the jeepney. Well, I don't know why they behave like these, but is this the characteristic of a sweet lover?. It is for you to judge.

Additional 50 Cents on Jeepney Fare

Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) already approved the 50 centavos increase in jeepney fares for the first four kilometers. Thankfully, Davao City which is part of Region 11 is not affected of it.  It will only be implemented in Metro Manila, and Regions 2,3,4, and 5. From the minimum fare of P8, it would now be P8.50. It took effect last Wednesday, March 21, 2012.

Perfect Souvenir

Yes indeed, this is a perfect souvenir. It captured my attention while I was strolling at one of the malls here in Davao. I couldn't help myself in taking out my phone and capture a photo of it. It is really a minute replica of the common means of transportation here in the Philippines, the jeepney. Since, it is only in the Philippines, a jeepney ride and a replica of this jeepney is the best souvenir you could give to your foreigner friends. I could still remember when our foreigner clients went here to visit us, they are so fascinated with the jeepney that instead of riding a taxi, we had a jeepney ride for them to experience it. This minute jeepney is really a perfect souvenir.

Claims

Being always on a ride is risky. More often than not there are accidents that happened along the way. The vehicles involved could be cars, buses or jeepneys but most of the time it is a motorcycle accident. If lucky enough the injuries attained by parties involve could only be bruises but some are at the worst scenario. If only all parties involve could have personal injury claims East of England that could compensate the expenses involve for the medical check up. I could still remember the time when the jeepney I rode on met an accident. It bumped into the  vehicle at its front because it suddenly stop. Thankfully no one was harm but some us felt some parts of our body are aching. My hand was aching because at the time of the accident I hold on to something to brace the impact and someone's elbow hit my head that it is aching as well. Since, it was just a minor accident we were not send off to the nearest hospital. My co-passengers and I ride again to another jeepney to be able to reach our destination, as if no accidents happened. I think it is always the scenario if only minor accidents involve. They focus more on the damaged properties not on the personal injuries attained by parties involve. That is how things go.

Car Title Loans

My husband and I had been planning to buy a new car. It is our goal, our dream and aspiration to be able to have our own car. Before we got married, my husband already had his own car but because of some of the impractical features of the car,my husband sold it. Thankfully, I have supportive brother-in-laws who often let us borrow their cars in case of long distance travel. Though jeepney is the common means of transportation, riding your own car is more convenient compared to a jeepney ride. Still, jeepney is the cheapest means of transportation unlike the very high fuel expenses you will incur with your own car. The only benefit of owning a car is that at any time you could go to any destination you want without the hassle of waiting for a ride or endure the inconvenience of public  transportation. Also, having our own car qualifies you for car title loans in case you needed extra cash.
Car title loans is a type of loan where the borrower would only have to show his car title to be able to be approved with the loan. Of course the car must also be in good shape for a speed up approval of the loan. It is typically a short term loan with a higher interest rate compared to other type of loans. That is why it is marketed as small emergency loans. Aside from these the payment of the loan and the fees is paid in one lump sum amount which is usually paid within a month. Car title loans are easier to acquire but it is risky as well. It is putting at high risk an asset, the cars, which is very essential and useful to any working individuals. Still, car title  loans is an easier way of acquiring readily available cash.

Morning Breath

Lately, I had been traveling early. I choose to have my ride earlier so that I could arrive at my destination at the soonest possible time.  This will give me a lot of time to do all the transactions I needed to do. The only disadvantage of having a morning travel is to have co-passengers who keeps on yawning with that not so nice smell of morning breath. I don't know if they are not self conscious or they are not that aware of the smell of their morning breath that they keep on yawning without covering their mouth. Hope I won't be able to encounter again these type of co-passengers the next time I will have my jeepney ride.

On Vacation

Why is it that when you are on vacation it is nice to wake up early and start your day? Unlike any regular day, wherein you would wake up late and couldn't arrive at the workplace on time. Being on vacation is a seldom opportunity given for those who are working. It should be a worth it vacation wherein aside from the long distance travel and the jeepney ride, you should also be staying to a relaxing place like vacation rental homes. It would give you the ambiance of your own home and the feeling of being at home. Aside from its accommodation, vacation home rentals is available online. You could reserve vacation home rental with just one click of your mouse. If you would go on vacation, it should only be worth it.

More Leads

Two thumbs up for this blog because it has been working well and has been attracting to a several leads already. It has also been receiving paid posts and some pay per click revenue for Google ad sense. Though it still not big enough to be brag about but at least it is earning. Even though I did not sign up for any marketing sites for attracting leads, still it is doing well, how much more if I grab the Free MLM Lead Funnel that will surely attract more leads. Hope in the coming days, I could have a lot of posts and as well as earn more. Wish me Luck!!

Flowers on Board

In one of my jeepney ride, I was able to ride a jeepney full of flowers. It was supposed to be a contracted jeepney to bring those flowers to an establishment but there is still available space that they picked up some passengers.  I was one of the passengers. Inside the jeepney, I was amazed by the different beautiful flowers and the fragrance exudes by the flowers. The odor is just like the smell of aromatherapy oils that is so pleasing to smell. Some flowers are like those flowers featured in TV and some home and garden uk books and some are flowers that I have not seen before. Based from the talks inside the jeepney by my co-passengers, the flowers are for an exhibit. As the ride goes on, my co-passengers who were owners of the flowers were talking and that they are very hopeful to be able to have a lot of sale in the exhibit where they will bring the flowers. They are hoping to be able to sell all the flowers as early as possible. I have no doubt that they would be able to sell all those flowers but I was not able to know where they had their exhibit because I arrived at my destination ahead of them.

Pest

It has been a while since I came by to my brother-in-law's place to attend the Sunday Service. Going to that place is about forty five minutes of jeepney ride from our place. It was a nice ride because I was able to arrive early and there had been a minimal stopover. It was also not jam packed and the travel had also been smooth. I was able to attend the Sunday School and the Sunday Service. It was also the birthday of my husband's niece that I was able to attend the party. Some fruits like durian had been served. While eating we have talk about the fruits in their place like durian, rambutan, pomelo and many others.Aside from fruits, chickens and pigs is also abundant because there are many poultry houses around. Along with these topic is the pest that associated with it.
If fruits have seasons, there are also months when certain pests come out. During harvest season of fruits, mosquitoes increases. Maybe because of the odor or some rotten fruits. Houseflies or "langaw" would also increase in number if it is harvest season of chicken. Maybe because of the odor or some waste. If only there would be a pest control company in that area like Arizona Pest Control or Pest Control Mesa AZ to address the issue. If only there would be Exterminator Phoenix which could exterminate these pests. It is really gruesome to have a lot of pests in certain areas especially in the dining area. Swarming of housefly is a very horrible scene. It is really a problem to the people and it might be the cause of sickness. Hope the government agencies would also do something about it. I know there are some sanitary inspections done by government agencies, but I hope that they will really implement it and  be more strict on its implementation. The welfare of the people should be given with highest priority.

Jam-Packed Ride

I had a jam-packed ride today. I am carrying my laptop, my shoulder bag and some purchases. It was also a two-ride travel because I have to stop by in a store to buy something. Since I am carrying already a lot of things, I planned to take a taxi even though it is expensive but I couldn't find one. So I waited and there was a jeepney that stops by so I decided to ride on it. It was a jam-packed ride because my co passengers had  been carrying a lot of things. Some are carrying purchased kitchen utensils, others communication textbooks, bags and a lot of kids in the middle of the jeepney. I kept on holding on my things because it might scattered in the jeepney. While on the way I kept on thinking how will I pass through inside the jeepney when I already arrived in my destination. The passageway in the middle was already blocked by kids and some things of the passengers. Thank God a lot of passengers go out in the jeepney in the same village where I live that there was no blockage anymore on my way. I was able to easily go out in the jeepney. What a jam-packed ride it had been.

Job Assumption

On my way to the office this morning, I was able to encounter a very interrogative driver. Our office was situated in a private village and it is a house but has an office setup inside. Eventhough I was wearing formal attire which is in skirts and in high heels, he asked me if I was working as a nanny. I told him I am not a nanny. So he asked me again if I am an all around maid. I told him I am not a maid and instead I do accounting jobs. So he asked me again if I do really account everything. I said to him that I don't necessarily account everything only useful information. I was kind of offended by some of his questions but later on got to understand why he was able to formulate that type of questions. I got to realized that if you are working in a house, the typical assumption of your job could be a nanny or a housemaid. These are jobs that may not be included in DATS Jobs and could not be an approriate job for college graduates. I never thought that a house office would give a different job assumption to other people.
